Victor Osimhen, who is trying to lead Napoli to their third Serie A championship, said to ESPN that he would be willing to give up all of his records if it meant winning the scudetto. He is currently on a record-breaking run in the league.
It would be Napoli’s first league championship since the famous Diego Maradona led them to the top in 1990, and the Nigerian striker is a big reason they’re even in the hunt.
Osimhen’s 100th career goal on Friday helped the team defeat Sassuolo 2-0 and increase their lead in the league standings to 18 points.
Yet, the Nigerian told ESPN that he doesn’t consider the individual honor to be at all important for the current campaign.
