Russia-Ukraine War

Almost a year has passed since Russian tanks rolled into Ukraine, threatening a full-fledged invasion that several world leaders had predicted.

Ukrainians will be in mourning as the February 24th anniversary approaches. Many people are mourning the loss of relatives, and everyone will remember the devastation that has wracked their country as they consider what lies ahead.

Thousands of Ukrainian civilians, including at least hundreds of children, have been killed, as have tens of thousands of troops on both sides. The exact tolls are difficult to confirm, and most estimates are widely believed to be vastly understated.

Millions more were compelled to flee their homes in search of safety.

Looking ahead, there are fears of a larger conflict involving nuclear weapons as relations between Russia and Ukraine’s Western allies, which have deteriorated from lows as the war has raged, deteriorate further.
