Protesters have stormed the CBN’s Edo state chapter over their inability to exchange old naira notes for new ones. They claimed that their banks had directed them to the CBN, while the central bank instructed them to return to their banks to exchange the new notes for the new ones. The protest came just hours after the governor of the central bank, Godwin Emefiele, announced that the earlier swapping deadline of February 10 had not been changed.
