The police in Anambra state have detained five alleged armed thugs. The thugs in the state’s Ihiala local government district had five automatic pump-action guns, which the police also took possession of.
State police commissioner CP Aderemi Adeoye issued a warning that the command will not put up with any instances of thuggery, ballot box snatching, or other violations of the rules and regulations governing elections.
Also, Anambra State’s deputy superintendent of police, Ikenga Tochukwu, who verified the arrest and served as the department’s spokeswoman, stated that the suspects were already being held in the state police command’s facilities.
“Five armed thugs nabbed in Ihiala and five automatic pump action pistols recovered,” Tochukwu stated in a brief statement.
