JK Rowling

J.K. Rowling responded to claims that she is prejudiced against people who identify as transgender on “The Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling,” a podcast produced by Bari Weiss’ “The Free Press.”

Rowling ridiculed the notion that she should be worried that her opinions on social issues may tarnish her legacy on the show.

The best-selling “Harry Potter” author claimed, “I never set out to enrage anyone.”

But, Rowling continued, “I was not averse to coming down from my pedestal. “The phrase “you’ve wrecked your legacy” has intrigued me over the past 10 years, and most definitely in the last two or three, especially on social media. You could have been my cherished for all time, but you chose to say this, and I believe you terribly misjudged me.”
