Handball: IHF tournament U-18 male final selection released.

The final roster of players who will represent Nigeria in the IHF Trophy Intercontinental Championship, which will take place in San Jose, Costa Rica, has been announced by Emeka Nnamani, head coach of the Nigeria U-18 male team.

The first game between Nicaragua and Georgia will kick off the tournament on March 7.

Prior to departing for San Jose in two groups on Saturday and Sunday to compete, the national U-18 male handball team camped at the Rowe Park Sports Centre in Lagos.

The team that competed in the continental tournament in Congo Brazzaville and the Africa Zone 3 tournament in Ivory Coast include a large number of the players chosen by the coach.

Nigeria, the U-18 male champions from Africa, is competing in the competition for the second time in history after placing second in the 2019 edition, which took place in Pristina, Kosovo, with a narrow 27-26 loss to Chinese Taipei in the title game.

The first match, which will be played on March 8 against Nicaragua, will be played by the Nnamani-tutored tutored team against teams like Georgia, Guadaloupe, Nicaragua, and Tahiti.

After defeating Guinea 37-36 in the IHF Trophy Continental Phase final, which took place in Brazzaville, Congo earlier in the year, Nigeria qualified for the IHF Trophy Intercontinental 2023. Prior to that, they competed in the Africa Zone 3 tournament of the competition in Ivory Coast, where they defeated everyone. Since losing to Chinese Taipei in the 2019 Intercontinental championship in Kosovo, they have gone undefeated in the championship.
