Chimaroke Nnamani, the former governor of Enugu State and senator representing Enugu East Senatorial District, has filed a lawsuit against the Peoples Democratic Party after being expelled for anti-party activities.

On February 7, 2023, a few days before his expulsion from the party, Nnamani filed the suit in the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The former governor, who openly declared support for the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, prompting his initial suspension from the PDP, claimed that his support for the APC candidate was motivated by his inability to support a northerner as President after Muhammadu Buhari’s eight-year tenure.
