Flying Eagles defeated Egypt

The Nigerian Flying Eagles won their second game at the ongoing Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations 1-0 against the hosts Egypt on Wednesday (AFCON).

Solomon Agbalaka’s goal in the 71st minute was all that was needed to give the Nigerian squad the victory and three points they so desperately needed before their final group match against Mozambique.

According to our correspondent, Senegal, and Nigeria, both lost their opening games on Sunday by the same score.

Nigerian football fans in Lagos, who were overjoyed by the outcome, told our correspondent that the team deserved the win because it puts them in a comfortable position.

Tope Ayomekun, one of them, said the match was challenging but necessary because Egypt was playing in front of home fans and had lost their opening game.

Ayomekun praised the Nigerian squad and wished them continued success. “It was a terrific encounter that had all the electrifying moments expected from both sides,” he stated.
