Our correspondent reported that Rivers United was awaiting the CAF’s decision about Motema Pembe’s absence from their match-day four meeting in Uyo on Wednesday.
“Officially, due to the absence of DC Motema Pembe, CAF TotalEnergies Confederation’s Cup Group B match number 127 between Rivers United (Nigeria) and DCMP (RD Congo) has been postponed. Around the scheduled time for the game on Wednesday, Rivers United wrote, “We await the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) ruling.
With six points from three games, Rivers United is presently second in Group B, one point behind ASEC Mimosas of Cote d’Ivoire, while Motema Pembe is last with just two points.
On their Twitter account on Thursday, Rivers United announced the match’s rescheduled date.
The match between DC Motema Pembe and Rivers United in Group B of the CAF TotalEnergies Confederations Cup will now take place on Thursday, March 9 at 3 p.m. (15:00 HRS), the team tweeted.
On the third day of the championship, DC Motema Pembe was defeated 1-0 by Rivers United.
